I know it has been a while since I last blogged but I was really thinking about something that’s been on my mind since Monday that I think is very blog worthy. Sooo, here goes.
I’m sure everyone is quite familiar with many of the “Muslim” countries violently wrecking the embassies within their countries in response to some very cheesy movie a man decided to make in mockery of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). This is where my story begins. On Monday morning, as I opened up my locker, I overheard two girls next to me talking about some sort of boycott that they and many Muslims in America were supposedly taking part in by refusing to go on Google because apparently Google won’t take the trailer of the movie down. Out of curiosity, I joined the conversation and asked them what this whole thing was about. After hearing the full details, I came to the realization that this was one of the dumbest things anyone can ever do.-__- I mean just think about it. What will you refusing to go on Google do anything about this very petty little matter??
Anyways, they carried the conversation into our homeroom class and our teacher, after also hearing them speak of this particular topic, started explaining something to them about Prophet Isa, the media, and tormenting. I didn’t really catch what he was saying other than those three words because I went out of the room to get something not really giving the topic much regard.
Today, however, I was sitting down and doing some literature homework as Coldplay’s song, Viva La Vida, played on You-tube on my computer. It’s a pretty awesome song. So captivating and entrancing. I always thought the song was telling the story of some great beloved King who came to an ultimate and very sad end. I was reading the comments to the song and it seemed as if there was another one of those You-Tube comment wars where two very stubborn people just kept going back and forth about…..CHRISTIANITY!!!
So, I’m like what in the world are these two people talking about? I looked up the meaning to the song and it turns out it’s about Prophet Isa (Jesus) and the many difficulties he had in his lifetime. How he was so loved by so many yet so hated by many others. I listened to the song again with a completely new perspective. It was so amazing!
As Muslims, we often forget that there are so many other great men who preached the religion of peace. Almost every time I watch an episode of Family Guy or The Simpsons there always seems to be some stupid joke about Prophet Isa. To me it seems like the media makes fun of Prophet Isa ten times as much as they do to Prophet Muhammad. Both were great men who faced tremendous torment from their people for what the stood up for. I once read that while Prophet Muhammad was praying outside a couple of men snuck up behind him and dumped camel placenta on his head as he was in prostration. PLECENTA!! That is just horrible! Both prophet Isa and his mother faced countless forms of injustices in their lifetimes as well.
My first point is why are these “Muslims” who know that the media’s spotlight is constantly on them getting so angry about some corny movie insulting the Prophet when he, in his lifetime, faced much worse things than this can ever be? And what about the other Prophets, not only Prophet Isa but Prophet Musa and Nuh ,who also get made fun of waaaay more than Prophet Muhammad does. If you truly love the Prophets then you would handle these situations like them.
If people would start regarding petty little things like this as nothing then I wouldn’t even have to blog about it. What with the whole Arab Spring and “Muslims” having a history of violence this is just the cherry on
top. Go to GOOGLE and look up the horrible things the messengers of Allah went through in their lives. This movie is NOTHING when compared to the other horrendous torture that many of the messengers of Allah NOT just Prophet Muhammad had to go through. It’s time we regard situations like this as just that. Simply nothing. Hope I don’t sound crazy. Lol. Leave some comments. It’s always nice to get some feedback. :)
