One thing that I've gained from these workshops I've been attending is how important listening is. Before I joined the Detroit Minds and Hearts Program if I were told to rate myself on how good of a listener I was from one through ten I would've honestly rated myself a five or six, maybe even lower. I think that the reason of being for that would have been because I've always been very stubborn. When in a argument or debate I have always wanted to get my point across and see it as "case close". I never wanted to listen to the opponent's reasoning.
I think that as I started attending the sessions/meetings on Thursdays the debates allowed me to listen more. I think that now I allow others to talk when arguing, debating,or just talking. I look forward to tightening up my listening skills even more, and gaining more/experiencing more at the Detroit minds and hearts workshops.
