*This was my first actual meeting because I didn't attend the orientation. Based on what I saw and heard I like everyone so far, their all interesting and I can't wait to complete this journey with each and everyone of them!
I really enjoyed the first official session. My favorite portion of the meeting was when the entire group had the chance to freely debate on rather they strongly agreed, somewhat agreed, strongly disagreed,or somewhat disagreed on "most Americans have high self-esteem".
I met people I have things in common (i.e. their debating skills and love for politics). I really do feel I have somewhat changed during this first session. Reason being, during the debate I changed my position from somewhat disagree to somewhat agreed, due to the persuasion of the members who somewhat agreed. I felt I've grown due to this because I'm usually so stubborn and firm on my decisions that most times I don't allow people the chance to change my mind, I think during the debate I did. I look forward to the next meetings and growing more InshAllah (if God wills). --Nabintou...Salaams Out!--
