Well as we all know as Muslims we are expected to act a certain way. The Qur'an and Sunnah is constantly stresses how we're supposed to be humble and more. Basically I think that these days we're not practicing these etiquettes enough through at all. Starting from the etiquettes in our behavior to the etiquettes of our speech, I feel like my generation is just going along with what they think is "the norm",following the Kufar, and just not standing up when something isn't right.
- The Qur'an says:
“And when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with ‘Salamaa’ (peaceful words of gentleness).” (25:63)
Today I attending an Eid BBQ. During the middle of the outing a few of my cousins and I walked to a close by gas station. Basically one of my cousins was leaning on a glass were the owner of the gas station stored their ice cream so I told her to get up. She starting throwing a fit about how the guy behind the counter didn't tell her to get off of the glass so why am I telling her to and so on. I ended the conversation by telling her "Honey,no one should have to tell you to stop doing something wrong. You should KNOW when to stop. You're expected to act a certain way,and thats that". Than I removed myself from the situation by walking away.
-That situation is actually what encouraged me to writing this blog. I just feel like as I said before what the Muslim youth isn't realizing is that we're the NEXT GENERATION! Our parents, aunts, uncles, etc aren't going to be here forever. And,when their educating us we need to take it more seriously. It makes no sense for us to call ourselves the people of the right religion when we're not even presenting it as that. We barely practice our religion correctly, but when an individual or group calls us out of our names we want to get up and fight. SubhanAllah, what are we doing? I just think that we need to snap out of it. Comment to tell me what you think!
