I love being female sooooo much! I mean women are awesome...period.
Over the years I began to notice something major about myself. I am very passionate when it comes to standing up for the rights of women. In many countries women are degraded and it just frustrates me. One country in particular that I'd like to point out is Saudi Arabia. The women there are treated so unfairly I mean wrong isn't a strong enough word to describe it. Just yesterday I read an article written by a women in Saudi Arabia. She's basically just expressing her thoughts on how the women are treating, how she feels about it and taking it all back to the Qur'an. You can read the article here: http://archive.arabnews.com/?page=7§ion=0&article=43615&d=23&m=4&y=2004 . It's really nice,I enjoyed it a lot.
After reading that article I did a lot of research. Here's what I found! So as many of you may know when talk about a woman president is brought up the men say things such as "that's haraam" and "never will that happen",etc. Most of these men say this because of a hadeeth by a guy named Abu Bukhari, "A nation that is led by a woman will not succeed" . First and foremost a hadeeth that we go by must be a hadeeth by someone who was trustworthy and known to be a very truthful person. Well, while doing my research I found that Abu Bukhari was not one of these types of people. He was actually whipped by Umar ibn al-Khattab for lying about a charge of fornication against someone, and the testimony of one who is punished is not acceptable as mentioned in the Qur'an (24:4)
Also, many men believe that all women are good for is working in the kitchen, and taking care of children. In so many countries females aren't even allowed the same type education as the males. Check this out right quick. In (60:12) Allah says "O Prophet! When believing women come to you to give you the bai'a (pledge of allegiance), that they will not associate anything in worship with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit illegal sexual intercourse, that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging falsehood (i.e. by making illegal children belonging to their husbands), and that they will not disobey you in any Ma'ruf (Islamic Monotheism and all that which Islam ordains) then accept their bai'a (pledge of allegience), and ask Allah to forgive them, Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful". Okay with that ayah, tell me...if all women we're capable of was household duties why didn't Allah send an ayat down telling the women to stay at home and allow men to take their pledges of allegiance for them.?.?
Another thing when the Prophet (saas) passed away tell me who educated his sahaba? Aisha RA correct? The following are two examples of what the Holy Prophet’s male Companions said about her:
-“Abu Musa said: Whenever there was any hadith that was difficult [to understand] for us, the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, and we asked Aisha we always found that she had knowledge about that hadith.”
-“Musa ibn Talha said: I never saw anyone more eloquent than Aisha.”
All of these examples yet some of us want to underestimate what women are capable of? Please....
