Choosing one religious practice as i do being a muslim is namaz. Namaz is the key to a future in jannat which means heaven. I pray five times a day and do 17 rakath. The first two rakath are prayed in the early morning after you wake up for Sehri (Eating time to begin fast) and is called Fajar. That one is ALWAYS the hardest just because its so early. Then in the afternoon two namaz's take place and are each four rakath and are called Zuhar and Asar. After you open your Aftar (Opening fast) we read Magrib and Isha which are three and four rakaths. It may on the take five minutes for each prayer but in those five minutes it is just you and your god or "Allah" alone. Also namaz helps connect a bond with allah and we pray to god because he has given us life and that is how we repay him. Also reading namaz is wajib on you as a muslim just like fasting. I pray mostly because my parents tell me to but i feel like once they get me in the habit of it i will start to realize in the future what it really means and how it would affect me.
Take ONE learning experience from this workshop and write about it in detail....
I learned quite a few things at our last meeting such as debating skills, constructive skills, and talking with more detail. I learned that when debating, you have to look at both positive and negatives to make you point more stronger. Also when we worked together on the collage we all looked closer into the magazines for detail about who our characters were. Finally i learned that when when talking and debating you try to convince someone by only using your words. So rather talking a lot and repeating what your points were you stick to smaller points with more detail and use more sources and statistics to convey your point through the listener. This will help me when i need to talk to people who will invest in my ideas and also will help me in the future.
Hey everybody i just got home and back from the camping trip in the Upper Michigan with all you guys. I would start of by saying all the leaders did a great job on organizing this trip for everyone to enjoy. Well starting of the trip i came with Khadigah, Salman,Ali and Alina. Over the trip we listened to some music and had many incidents with the car not having enough gas so we end up going back from where we start but that gave us more time to get to know each other. We laughed and talked about who we were and gave some history about each other. By the end of the car ride i knew Khadigah as well as anyone in my family. After stepping out of the car from that LONG trip and i could barely walk for abit. After i got the feeling of feeling my lower half of the body again we all got together and started to build the tents. Are team finished in 2nd but i feel like we came in first because we all worked together. Once the tent was set up we got ready to eat and all sat down. The dinner was not to bad i had two turkey sandwiches and ALOT of chips. When everyone was done eating we headed to the beach and played some football. I remember it thundering so everyone left the water and we head to the field to play some football and Ultimate Frisbee. I think i got to know everyone from playing that because it had everyone evolved and had people using each others name to get touchdowns. After a hard game it started to pour like crazy and everyone started to freeze including me. Even though it was raining Khadigah and green lantern started to get dinner ready. When the food was ready we all ate and it was by far the best food i have ever had, its was probably becasue i was starving. After that we all headed to our tents and called it a night. Again in the morning the leaders prepared an amazing breakfast and we all ate and left for kayaking. We kayaked for abit and then left after everyone was tired. Once everyone was hood to go and ready to leave Khadigah lost the keys, that put me in alot of panic because i knew that i would end of sleeping outside for one more night and my arms had no more room for more mosquito bites. After khalifa found the keys we all said our good bye and left home. Over the car ride back home we all talked about what happened over the past day and whether it was worth it. I think that was a great trip and i believe after i left i knew everyone in our group very well and i am excited for the next trip with the amish. See you guys monday
HEY EVERYBODY!!!!... Sorry i could not make it to the last group meeting. I am sure ALL you guys missed me and had fun. I need to know what i missed while i was gone to, so if someone could fill me in that would be great, thanks. Anyway while you guys are probably dying in that oven room talking, I'm in Washington and its not so amazing here either. We are having a heat wave from wednesday-saturday. So i am going to be inside most of the time playing video games and probably not blogging when i should lol. So anyway i will be back before our next meeting but i think its canceled because of the camping trip. Speaking of the camping trip, I am SUPERRRRRRRRR excited. I have not gone camping since 6th grade and that was with Salman to so i am looking forward to this year with all of you guys. Also i think this is a great way for everyone to get closer so hope to make some new friends next week at camp. Catch you guys there.
Im sorry i have not been really following up on this. I was very confused on where to go because this is my first time ever blogging. Well i guess i am just suppose to speak my mind. Well this blog is for the day of orientation. Coming to orientation was alot of fun because i met alot of new people and we started to understand what we were their for. Also we played alot of games to get to know each other such as the rap game where i was completely lost because i have no vocal talent at all. Still giving it a try and to see how everyone else tired just as hard was cool to see. Everything went well that day, the food was nice because it was oven hot and thats probably because it was baking in the room. But after we all finished up inside we went outside which i found really relaxing because it was perfect temperature and we had a great view of the lake. After leaving it was good to see who was going to be in the group and who i would be working with and i hope to get to know them better.
